I think these days its too easy for isp,s to say 'free router' and leave it at that, if they were to tell the truth and list the capabilities of the said free router people would look elsewhere and pay a bit more for something decent, luckily I am in the position where I do not have to pay for my BB and that is not due to it being an add on extra for some mobile phone deal or tv package its due to employment so kicking some ass to get whats expected is part of the package, if only they would give me free FO I would be very happy.

Forgot to mention that my brain dead isp seems to think that if you can access google, facebook, youtube and your emails that they have full filled their contract to you! try and explain the importance of being able to port forward for the use of running a server for gaming or in my case complex digital voip programs for amateur radio and it goes way over their numpty empty heads, its all black arts and voodoo to them so do not even bother, as you talk to them you can hear them desperately flick the pages of their ring binders looking for a good answer which they will never find as your isp do not want them to know about things like that as they are only call center operators after all, only once many years ago did I have the good fortune to talk to a real IT tech support operator in the early days of broadband and he told me to ditch the router I was supplied with and buy a Belkin!!! which actually worked and ran my server for a good few years without a problem and was still recently working running a caravan park server I put online.
